PagePilot & DSers: Bridging the Gap for Seamless AliExpress Dropshipping Fulfillment
Hey everyone,
I recently saw a fantastic question pop up in the Shopify community from @RagePorium, and it’s one that I know many of you, especially those just starting out with dropshipping, have probably wondered about. It boils down to this: if you’re using a tool like PagePilot to create beautiful, custom product pages from AliExpress links, but you also rely on DSers for automated fulfillment, will those orders still automatically sync up? It’s a super practical question, and the short answer, as our community experts @Wsp and @topnewyork explained, is not automatically, but yes, you can absolutely make it work!
Understanding the DSers-PagePilot Disconnect
Let's dive into why this happens. When you bring a product into your Shopify store directly through DSers, there’s a behind-the-scenes handshake happening. DSers imports the product, creates all the variants, pulls in the details, and crucially, establishes a unique link or "tracking ID" between that specific product in your Shopify store and its original source on AliExpress. This link is what allows DSers to recognize when an order comes in for that product and automatically push it to your supplier for fulfillment.
Now, when you use a page builder like PagePilot, you're essentially bypassing that initial DSers import process. As @topnewyork put it, "When you use PagePilot to create and import a product page directly to Shopify, Shopify treats it as a completely new, independent product." You’re taking the AliExpress product link, building a stunning page around it, and then importing that page and its associated product details directly into Shopify. From Shopify's perspective, it’s just another product you’ve added. But here’s the rub: DSers has no idea this product exists in its ecosystem because it never went through its import flow. The unique tracking IDs and the direct connection for auto-fulfillment are missing.
So, if a customer buys a product you imported via PagePilot without any further steps, DSers won't see that order in its dashboard. You'd be left with a manual fulfillment situation, which, let's be honest, defeats the purpose of using an automation tool like DSers in the first place, especially as your store grows!
The Simple Fix: Manually Mapping Your Products in DSers
The good news is that this isn't a dead end at all! You don't have to choose between beautiful PagePilot pages and DSers automation. You can absolutely have both. The trick, as both our community experts highlighted, is to manually "map" the product in DSers after you’ve created and imported it into Shopify using PagePilot.
Think of it like this: you’ve got a fantastic new product in your Shopify store, but DSers doesn’t know where to find its supplier on AliExpress. Your job is to introduce them! This mapping process tells DSers, "Hey, this product in my Shopify store (the one you didn't import) actually corresponds to this specific product on AliExpress."
Step-by-Step Guide to Linking PagePilot Products to DSers for Auto-Fulfillment:
- Create and Import Your PagePilot Product to Shopify: Go ahead and use PagePilot to design that amazing product page and import it directly into your Shopify store as you normally would. Get everything looking perfect on your storefront.
- Head Over to Your DSers Dashboard: Log into your DSers account. Once there, navigate to the Product section, and then click on My Products. This is where DSers lists all the products it knows about.
- Find Your PagePilot-Imported Product: You should see the product you just imported via PagePilot listed here. If it's a brand new import and you don't see it right away, you might need to click on "Import Shopify Products" within DSers to refresh the list and pull in any recently added items from your Shopify store.
- Initiate the Mapping Process: Next to your PagePilot-imported product, you’ll find an option like Mapping Page or "Edit Mapping." Click on this. This is where the magic happens!
- Connect the AliExpress Link and Variants: In the mapping section, you'll need to paste the original AliExpress product URL – the same one you used in PagePilot to create your product page. Once you paste it, DSers will usually pull up the product details. You'll then need to carefully select and match the correct variants (like colors, sizes, styles) between your Shopify product and the AliExpress product. Make sure every variant on your Shopify product has a corresponding variant selected from AliExpress.
- Save Your Mapping: Once you’ve linked the AliExpress URL and matched all the variants, hit that save button!
And that's it! Once this mapping is complete, DSers will successfully recognize the connection. From then on, any time a customer places an order for that specific product on your Shopify store, it will automatically sync up to your DSers dashboard. You’ll be able to fulfill it with a single click, just like any other product you originally imported through DSers.
This little extra step ensures you get the best of both worlds: the creative freedom of PagePilot for crafting unique product presentations and the efficient, automated fulfillment power of DSers. It’s a common hurdle for new dropshippers, but as you can see, the solution is straightforward once you know the process. Happy selling, everyone!
